A FUNDRAISING canal walk has raised an incredible £13,000 for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Dozens of families and groups of friends gathered alongside the Llangollen canal on Saturday, March 8 to complete the 10-mile sponsored walk from Trevor Basin to Chirk and back.
Each participant was asked to raise as much sponsorship as possible, culminating in the impressive £13,000 total.
Advertizer editor Richard Jones, who took part in the walk with his wife and family as part of the newspaper’s 2015 fundraising challenge, said: “Despite the really wet weather it was a wonderful event for a fantastic cause.”
PICTURED: The youngest walker to complete the challenge was eight-year-old Ewan Killick. Ewan is pictured here with his mother, Gail Cava and father, Andrew Killick.
